Cookbook Publishers, Inc. was founded in 1947 by R.M. Evans as Bev-Ron Publishing Co. for the purpose of printing community cookbooks. Mr. Evans would contract with an organization to print their cookbooks at no cost to them, then a salesman would sell advertising to local merchants to be included in the cookbook.

The company prospered and grew with this plan until the mid-1960s when Mr. Evans pioneered a major change in the industry - a direct mail Cookbook Kit instead of on-the-road salesmen. The customer was presented with various design options and, more importantly, step-by-step instructions on putting their cookbook together.

In 1975 the company incorporated and was renamed Cookbook Publishers, Inc. Mr. Evans retired, and turned the company over to his two sons, Ron and Dennis, who remains our CEO. In 1984 we were the very first fundraising company to change from typewriters to the more professional look of typesetting. We were also the first in the industry to offer toll-free customer service!
